Carolyn Choi, Partner and Attorney at Law, was awarded a J.D. from the School of Law at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1990. She received a B.A. degree in English and Psychology from Rice University in 1981. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1990, and has devoted her practice to Immigration and Nationality Law.
Ms. Choi is past Chair of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers
Association and past Chair of the Santa Clara County Bar Association Immigration Section. She
is also past Chair of the San Jose Immigration Service Liaison Committee of the American
Immigration Lawyers Association. She has a broad range of expertise in all aspects of
immigration law, including both employment-based and family-based immigration matters. She
has worked with numerous corporate and individual clients in the Silicon Valley region, as well
as foreign corporations with employees working in Silicon Valley. Ms. Choi has published
numerous articles on immigration issues and has lectured on a wide range of immigration topics
at programs for the Santa Clara County Bar Association and for the state and national
conferences of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Topics on which she has
written/spoken include: alien employment certification, employment immigration petitions,
family immigration, ethics, and law practice management. Ms. Choi has been honored with a life
membership in the National Registry of Who’s Who? and received the Outstanding Service
Award from the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association
in 1996. She served as an associate editor of the book, Emerging Issues in Immigration Law, as
well as on the Program Planning Committees of the 1994 and 1995 California Chapters
Conferences of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Prior to joining ROSE CARSON
KAPLAN CHOI & WHITE, LLP, Ms. Choi was a managing partner at Allen, Choi & Do, LLP
from 2003 to 2007. Prior to joining Allen, Choi & Do, LLP, Ms. Choi served as Corporate
Counsel within the Legal Department of Rightworks Corporation in San Jose from 2000 to
2001, handling immigration matters in-house. Ms. Choi has also provided pro bono services
with the Asian Community Immigration Clinic at the Asian Law Alliance since 1991.
